In Touch With Teens is a twelve-unit relationship violence prevention curriculum designed for youth ages 12–19. It equips young people with the knowledge and skills to build safe, respectful, and healthy relationships. Lessons cover power and control, healthy sexuality, media literacy, and critical issues such as sexual harassment, sexual assault, and dating violence.

Updated and released in 2025, the Third Edition introduces a new unit on gun violence, expanded content on cyberbullying, social media, and media literacy, updated language and resources, and a deeper focus on the social justice issues most relevant to youth today.

The curriculum also fosters essential pro-social skills, including empathy, impulse control, effective communication, problem solving, and bystander accountability. To support educators, In Touch With Teens comes with ready-to-use handouts, an evaluation form, and Spanish translations of participant activities.

The Third Edition also includes Make A Choice (MAC), a fully digital companion created by Peace Over Violence. Piloted in Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) classrooms, MAC now aligns unit-by-unit with In Touch With Teens. Designed to engage students in interactive decision-making, MAC helps youth navigate choices, weigh options wisely, and strengthen violence-prevention skills.

Recognized nationally for its impact, In Touch With Teens was selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as one of only five model youth violence-prevention programs in the country—and the only program from California. It has also been adopted by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) , the second-largest district in the nation, as the designated relationship-violence curriculum within its “Life Skills for the 21st Century” program.
