“Listening With Empathy” Storytelling Installation

At An Evening Over Violence, we created a storytelling installation, “Listening with Empathy.” The stories heard included audio from our honorees: Cathy Friedman, sharing some memories and successes from her time at POV; a portion of the audio from the video that ESPN made to honor “The Sister Survivors” at The ESPYS when 141 of the more than 300 victims of Larry Nassar received The Arthur Ashe Award for Courage; Terry Crews when he raised his voice and the voice of survivors on the Senate floor in support of additional civil rights protections across the nation under the Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights.

We also featured some stories that highlight the work that we do with youth and with survivors of domestic violence. With each story, we highlighted how our work is connected to the campaigns we produce, Denim Day and The Domestic Violence Action Fund.

Listen to the incredible stories of our honorees, and some of the work of Peace Over Violence.
