Title: HR Administrator Assistant

Nonexempt- Part time 20 hours  


Metro Headquarters, Downtown LA


Peace Over Violence has a position available for an HR Administrator to support our Human Resources department. Candidate will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners. The main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents and updating internal databases. Our ideal candidate has experience with HR procedures and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner and ensure our HR department supports our employees while conforming to California labor laws. Must be organized, able to prioritize, and must have good communicative and relationship building skills, as you will work with various people across the organization. Ideal candidate will be part of Peace Over Violence Administrative and Operations department, under the supervision of the Chief Program & Operations Officer.


  • Provide HR administrative support for CPO/COO and CEO

  • Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation

  • Process employees’ requests and provide relevant information

  • Coordinate HR projects, meetings and training seminars as needed

  • Post job ads on careers pages and process incoming resumes

  • Prepare reports for internal communications;

  • Help organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding and training programs to new employees.

  • Facilitate agency orientations for new employees by sharing onboarding packages and explaining agency policies;

  • Manage and update HR databases with different information such as new hires, terminations, sick leaves, warnings, vacation and days off

  • Assist with employee leave process; such as sick and maternity leave

  • Prepare and amend HR documents as needed, i.e. employment contracts and recruitment guides;

  • Help in payroll management, preparation and payment

  • With the guidance of the executive leadership team, review and renew company policies and legal compliance;

  • Communicating with external partners;

  • Being point of contact for employees on any HR related queries;

  • Assisting with payroll by providing the department with relevant employee information, i.e. holiday, leave and sick days taken;

  • Liaise with external partners, insurance vendors, HR consultants and ensure legal compliance


  • Computer literate with programs such as word, excel, etc.

  • Good understanding of labor laws

  • Interpersonal with good communicative skills

  • Proven work experience as an HR Administrator, HR Administrative Assistant or relevant role

  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects

  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills

  • BS in Human Resources or relevant field
