Crisis Intervention Training

Counselor-advocates provide counseling, advocacy, education, and referrals to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse. They answer crisis calls on Peace Over Violence’s 24 hour LA Rape and Battering Hotline and respond in person to hospitals and police stations to provide one-on-one support to survivors and significant others. After successful completion of the 65-hour Crisis Intervention Training, volunteer counselor-advocates make a one year commitment to weekly 4-8 hour shifts in the hotline and accompaniment program.
