State Certification
Peace Over Violence’s 65 hour training is state certified. All couselor/advocate certification continues throughout their one year commitment to the hotline and accompaniment program. Regular attendance at our monthly in-service meetings is required for continued certification and participation in the Crisis Intervention program. At the end of your first year of volunteer service, you will receive a certificate of completion from Peace Over Violence, recognizing your demonstrated commitment to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. At that point, many counselor-advocates choose to continue their service with the hotline and accompaniment program, and/or expand into other areas of volunteer involvement with Peace Over Violence.
