National Spokesperson

In 2004 actress Calista Flockhart joined Peace Over Violence as our National Spokesperson. Ms. Flockhart has been a supporter of the agency’s work for the past several years. Her relationship with our organization began in 2001 when she presented the Humanitarian Award to her friend Eve Ensler, writer and director of The Vagina Monologues, at our 30th Anniversary dinner. Since then Ms. Flockhart has shown tremendous commitment and passion for the issue. Peace Over Violence Executive Director Patti Giggans: “I have been inspired by Calista’s passion about this subject since I first met her and feel that her public support of the agency and the services we offer brings much needed attention to the issues of sexual and domestic violence.” As National Spokesperson Ms. Flockhart participates in our annual Denim Day in L.A. educational campaign and is figured prominently in our new Peace Over Violence media campaign. When asked about her role with the agency Ms Flockhart responded, “I am honored to be the National Spokesperson for Peace Over Violence. I admire their commitment to ending violence against women, and the important work they do on a daily basis to achieve this goal.”
