Crisis Intervention Training – Become a Counselor Advocate
After completion of training, you will become a crisis counselor advocate for sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking survivors.
When:
Orientation: February 1, 2012
Training: February 8 – March 28, 2012
on Wednesdays from 6:30-9:30pm and Saturdays 9am-5pm.
You will:
- Provide crisis counseling to survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence on the Los Angeles Rape & Battering 24-hour crisis line
- Educate and inform the community about Peace Over Violence’s programs and services
- Provide accompaniments to hospitals and/or law enforcement agencies for survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence
Requirements:
- Must be 18 and older
- One year commitment
- Complete POV 65hr training
- Have reliable transportation with insurance
- Available 4-8 hours per week after completion of training
- No previous experience needed
