Family Violence Prevention Fund and Rainbow Services will be hosting a policy training for organizations on how to influence policymakers, media and the public to advance the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization, which expires next year.
The law is responsible for over $600 million annually going to nearly 25 different programs to create and support comprehensive, cost-effective responses to prevent and respond to violence against women. The policy training lessons can be applied to local and state-level advocacy efforts.
The second half of the program will be a “listening session” for local providers and advocates to propose changes and provide feedback on VAWA programs directly to federal officials. A policy toolkit will be available and shared with attendees to use with your supporters. We hope that you join us!

It is estimated by experts in the federal government, including the Department of Justice and member of Congress, that there are hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits sitting in storage across the United States. Each one represents lost justice and a lost opportunity for healing for a survivor of sexual violence. Help us end the rape kit backlog by joining us for this special viewing and discussion event.
